Another Phytness Weekend!!

Although the weather wasn't very cooperative, this was a great weekend to spend in Asbury Park.  On Saturday we participated in the Liberty Natural Gas Boardwalk Relay Against Hunger.  This was a wonderful event put on by Liberty Natural Gas, NJBankers, and the Jersey Shore Running Club (JSRC) to emphasize National Hunger Action Month.  All proceeds went to the NJ Federation of FoodBanks to fight hunger in New Jersey.  As a member of JSRC, it was a pleasure to participate for such a worthy cause.  Race Day Registration and the After-Party were held at The Stone Pony, with music by GOLDENSEAL.  Refreshments were provided by WINDMILL. Although the course was a little wet, the rain stayed away and a good time was had by all.  For future events vist www.JSRC.org

On Sunday I participated in the FIZIKEL Empower the Youth Day Paddle for Power, which was a celebration of Founder Jay Taylor's paddling from NY to the Jersey Shore.  The weather held out for most of the day, allowing Jay to make his way to Asbury Park and a wonderful event.  Their were fitness and agility classes, skateboarding, unicycle, and BMX demos, a Silent Auction, and a variety of vendors all getting together to help the youth of Asbury Park.  The FIZIKEL Foundation is a great organization founded on the principles of Focus, Intention, Zeal, Intensity, Knoweledge, Endurance, and Leverage.  These principles help the Youth of Asbury Park discover their hidden talents inspiring and educating them on a wide variety of topics.  Tim and I look forward to working with Jay, Pam, Ty and the rest of the FIZIKEL team to enrich the lives of as many local children as we can.

Members of Team Phytness Solutions also participated in the Men's Health Urbanathalon in NYC on Saturday and had a wonderful time at an after party BIG enough for the City That Never Sleeps!!  Visit MensHealth.com for information.  If you look REALLY close to some of the pictures of people scaling the wall, you can catch me waiting patiently for my husband Tim to finih last years event.  That's one of the benefits of running the first leg, your well rested enough to cheer on your teammates at the finishline.  Due to procrastination on Tim's part we were unable to join our friends in NYC this year, but as I mentioned earlier we had a GREAT time in Asbury Park at the Boardwalk Relay Against Hunger!!!

That's it for now.  I'll post more often moving forward.
